'Turnback Tuesday' features vintage Storm Engine Co. #2 fire truck

Turnback Tuesday is sharing this image of Storm Engine Co #2 fire truck used in the parade during the Derby 300th Celebration in 1975.

As far as we can tell this vehicle is a 1930 American LaFrance Motorized Pumper Truck. Storm Engine Co #2, a volunteer fire department, was established in 1851 and is currently located at 151 Olivia St., Derby. The library could use your help in identifying the people who are riding this truck.

This image is a recent donation from the Wasilewski family.

The Ansonia Police Department proudly congratulates Officer Robles and Officer Mendez on successfully completing the police academy!

They have put in countless hours of hard work, training, studying, and dedication to prepare themselves for a career in law enforcement.

Their journey has required discipline, perseverance, and a strong commitment to serving others.

We are proud to welcome them to the Ansonia Police Department and look forward to watching them begin this next chapter in their careers.
