DERBY - Seymour Pink recently helped enhance the accuracy and comfort of mammograms at The Hewitt Center for Breast Wellness.

The community breast cancer fundraising organization provided funding to Griffin Health for the purchase of Bella Blankets®, protective coverlets that act as a barrier between the patient’s skin and the mammogram receptor plate to help hold the breast in place and allow for more accurate readings.

When the mammogram is over, the blankets ensure that breasts are easily lifted off, preventing possible skin tears. Additionally, Bella Blankets provide a sanitary barrier and a more comfortable, warmer mammogram which helps elevate the overall patient experience.

“We heard about the Bella Blankets being used at The Hewitt Center for Breast Wellness, and about the comfort and benefit they provide to patients,” said Mary Deming, Seymour Pink Board of Directors President.

“The blankets were described as providing invaluable comfort and making an uncomfortable but necessary procedure much more comfortable. For us at Seymour Pink, it was a perfect fit with our mission.”

In honor of the organization’s longtime support, Griffin Health has named the Center’s patient lounge after Seymour Pink.
