'Turnback Tuesday' (on Wednesday) features Birmingham Hotel in downtown Derby
This photograph was taken by Joshua H. Beal (1832-1902) of 16 Beekman St., New York, N.Y. in the 1870s.
The picture is an Albumen print on paper with a cardboard mount.
Look at the care taken by Mr. Beal to stage and produce this amazing photo.
The carriages, workers, children, guests, and businessmen really give you a history of Derby.

Shelton Library System schedules First Chapter Friday for ages 6-8 via Zoom
SHELTON - This week's First Chapter Friday genre hosted by the Shelton Library System is science fiction.
Kids ages 6-8 can join Miss Jessica from 1-3:30 p.m. Friday for the first chapter of Time Jumpers: Stealing the Sword by Wendy Mass.
Patrons must register with an email address to receive a Zoom Meeting ID and password.

Derby Neck Library hosts virtual Teen Game Night
There are three dates left: Aug. 6, 13, and 20.
Tweens and teens are invited to play Jackbox games, Jeopardy!, and Werewolf together via Zoom!
To take part, send Miss Krissy an email at kwarrenger at derbynecklibrary.org to be put on a mailing list.
A meeting link will be sent out at 6:15 p.m. for a 6:30 p.m. start.
