Ansonia Police charge city resident in woman's overdose death

ANSONIA - Police Tuesday served an arrest warrant on Michael Dupre in an overdose death investigation involving a 40-year-old female resident of Ansonia. 

The warrant was the result of a year-long investigation by Det. Jon Troesser. This is the second arrest of Dupre for his involvement in an overdose death. On Oct. 9, 2024 Dupre was arrested in the overdose death of a 24-year-old female Ansonia resident.

Dupre, 51, of Ansonia was charged with operating a drug factory, 3 counts of sale of narcotics, 2 counts of sale of a hallucinogenic, misrepresentation of a controlled substance, and sale of a controlled substance in public housing. 

Dupre was held on a $150,000 bond and was to be arraigned Tuesday at Derby Superior Court.

Seymour Police: Body of adult male found in Naugatuck River

 

Derby Police report hit and run victim succumbs to injuries

*** Hit and Run Victim Update ***

The Derby Police are saddened to report the Division Street hit and run victim from 12/15/22 succumbed to his injuries over the Holiday weekend at Bridgeport Hospital. He was identified as 61 year-old John Jepson.

Police are still investigating the accident and formal charges are expected against the driver of the vehicle who fled the scene.

Naugatuck Valley Health District: COVID-19 associated death reported in Seymour

 

In a statement late Thursday the NVHD reported: "There was one laboratory confirmed death updated to the district. The decedent was a Seymour resident living in an assisted living facility at the time of death. He was 89 and passed away on Nov. 5. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.”

Naugatuck Valley Health District: 1 COVID-19 associated death

Sharing today's message from Jessica Stelmaszek, MPH, Health Director.

"Attached please find the latest [Monday] update on behalf of the Naugatuck Valley Health District.

"NVHD has identified duplicate cases/cases with multiple profiles in the CT Electronic Disease Surveillance System as well as a number of individuals who had their addresses updated out of the NVHD jurisdiction. 
"Today’s data report reflects those changes as well as four new reported cases, including one COVID-19 associated death from last week. 
Our sincerest condolences are extended to the family during this time.

Naugatuck Valley Health District: One more COVID-19 associated death in Shelton

Since our last update on Friday, April 24, Naugatuck Valley Health District (NVHD) has received 9 new reports of laboratory confirmed COVID-19 cases across the Valley, bringing the district’s total to 923 cases.

255 (~27%) of the 923 confirmed cases among Valley residents, are individuals who currently reside in a nursing home, assisted living facility, group home, or other similar setting.

83 (~32%) of the 255 individuals have passed away due to COVID-19 complications. 

Today, NVHD learned of one laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 associated death, a 92-year-old female nursing home resident in Shelton. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family.

Statewide COVD-19 data is available at https://portal.ct.gov/coronavirus and is also linked on the NVHD website www.nvhd.org/covid19-data.

As a reminder, all data reported is preliminary and subject to change. Test results may be reported several days after the result. 

Patient information may be updated after results have already been reported. Changes will be reflected in the new daily totals.

NVHD receives data and confirmation reports from the following sources: 

CT Department of Public Health, Hospitals, Health Care Providers, Laboratories, and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. Sometimes, the local health department receives reports before the State DPH and therefore the numbers reported by NVHD may differ from the daily report on the State of CT website.
