Winter band, chorus concert slated tonight at Derby High School


From Derby High School Principal Jennifer Olson:
We hope you can join us for a festive evening of music at the DHS Winter Band and Chorus Concert tonight Tuesday, Dec. 9 at 6:30 p.m.!
Mr. Ruel is excited to showcase the hard work, creativity, and holiday spirit our students have put into preparing for this event!

Ansonia High School music department slates 2 free performances in March, April





From the desk of Maria Tangredi, Choral, Band, and Music Director:

The AHS Music Department has two free performances coming up.
Our 2nd annual Choral Coffeehouse will be held at 6 p.m. March 21 in the atrium with performances by our AHS Mixed Chorus and the winners of the AHS Talent Show.
This performance is a celebration of Arts in Our Schools Month and will be highlighted with contributions from Mrs. Cianciolo's students and from Ms. Feliconio's students.
On April 23, our band students will present an Instrument Petting Zoo in the atrium as part of our 2nd annual Band Expo, beginning at 6 p.m. for anyone curious in trying a musical instrument for the first time!
This demonstration will be followed by a performance featuring our AHS Concert Band, as well as AMS Band students, and possibly our newest elementary band students!
We hope that you and your families will be able to attend both of these events!

Spring Choral Coffeehouse on tap Thursday at Ansonia High School



ANSONIA - The 2023 Spring Choral Coffeehouse will be held at 6 p.m. March 30 at Ansonia High School.
The event will feature the AHS Chorus and AHS Talent Show winners Ariyah Johnson and Angel Dcosta.
Admission is FREE!
Maria Tangredi, AHS fine arts instructor and teacher of chorus, keyboarding, and instruments said she especially encourages 8th grade families to attend and see what we're all about!

The school is at 20 Pulaski Highway.

'We Are One' is theme of spring concert at Ansonia High School

Sharing a message Tuesday from Maria Tangredi, AHS music teacher:
"For now, the spring concert has been rescheduled for Thursday April 23rd. We will keep you posted of any changes. Thanks for your support!"

ANSONIA - The Ansonia High School music department will present its annual spring concert, 'We Are One,' from 6-7:30 p.m. March 26.
It will feature music from Charlie Puth to John Williams and everything in between.
Admission is $2 for students up to grade 12; $5 for all others.

The school is at 20 Pulaski Highway.

Winter Concert slated Thursday at Ansonia High School



ANSONIA - The Ansonia High School annual Winter Concert will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at the school, 20 Pulaski Highway.

Tickets are $5 for adults/$2 students or free with a donation of one new winter item for the warming tree (per person!).

The theme is "A Not-So-Silent Night."

Seasons of Love and Laughter concert on tap at Ansonia High School

ANSONIA - The Ansonia High School music department will present 'Seasons of Love and Laughter' holiday concert at 7 p.m. Dec. 14 at the school, 20 Pulaski Highway.
Snow date is Dec. 15.
The performance will feature: Concert Band, Mixed Chorus, Percussion Ensemble, The Vocal Vibes After School Chorus, and various soloists. 
The students are led by music teacher Maria Tangredi.
Admission is $2 for students K-12; $5 for all others or free with the donation of one new winter item for the AHS Student Government Warming Tree located in the school atrium.

Attendees will have the opportunity to "take a chance" on an arts-themed gift basket; 25 cents a chance or five chances for $1.
The Art Department will have handmade art and ceramics items available for purchase.

Ansonia High School to host annual pops concert

ANSONIA - The 2015 Ansonia High School "Snap, Crackle, Pops" annual spring pops concert will be held at 6:30 p.m. June 4 in the school auditorium, 20 Pulaski Highway.

Admission is $4.

Music teacher Maria Tangredi said students in band, drum line, chorus, vocal vibes (an after-school chorus), and various senior acts, will be presenting works by John Williams and Andrew Lloyd Webber.
They will perform songs including Low Rider, Best Day of My Life, and Don't Stop Believin', she said.

A reception will follow.


This promises to be a great concert!
