Friends of Shelton Libraries to hold holiday book sale Saturday

SHELTON - Join us [at Plumb Memorial Library] for the Friends of the Shelton Libraries Holiday Book Sale Saturday, Dec. 6 from 9 a.m.-2 p.m.
The Library is at 65 Wooster St.
Browse the large collection of holiday books from all genres! Event includes a basket raffle. Enter to win one of four baskets: Cozy Reading, Cookie Baking, Game Day and Christmas is for Kids.

Derby Neck Library youth book sale starts Sunday


DERBY - Derby Neck Library's Youth Book (and Movie) Sale starts Sunday and runs through Thursday!
Join us for our book sale party on Sunday with an outdoor obstacle course and mosaic crafts, plus a whole week of fun events to experience when you come and shop!
Educators receive a bag of books for free! Hope to see you there!

SEYMOUR - The Friends of the Seymour Public Library have scheduled a used book sale Sept. 22 and 23.

Members only - Friday, Sept. 22 from 2-4 p.m.

Open to public - Saturday, Sept. 23 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

Plumb Memorial Library in Shelton to celebrate renovation at open house




SHELTON - Plumb Memorial Library will host an open house Saturday celebrating completion of the renovation with a variety of events scheduled from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
• The Friends Annual Meeting at 10 a.m.
• The Friends ongoing Book Sale will be taking place in the upstairs Reading Room all day long!
The Shelton Senior Center Songsters will present “Songs from Broadway Musicals” accompanied by David Scrimenti in the downstairs Meeting Room.
• The Olde Ripton Garden Club will be showcasing its new “Seed Library” in the Media Room.
• Artist Bruce Zboray will be showing his paintings in the gallery.
• Special events in the Children’s Department and goodie bags will be available all day.
The renovation project has been a five-year event done in four phases that was undertaken by Library Director, Joan Stokes, and the Library Board led by James Geissler and including treasurer Aleta Miner, Jean Cayer, secretary Julie Blakeman, Stephen Bellis, and Louis Dagostine.
The City of Shelton has worked in conjunction with the Library Board and staff to make the Plumb Memorial Library ADA compliant and to assist with the renovation.
All are welcome to visit the library for this special event and view the positive changes that have been made.

'Book Nook' book sale continues at Plumb Memorial Library in Shelton



SHELTON - The "Book Nook" book sale is ongoing at Plumb Memorial Library, 62 Wooster St.
All proceeds will benefit the Friends of the Shelton Libraries.
Hardcover books are $2; softcovers are $1.
