9.30 a.m. - Hike: Please arrive by 9:15 a.m. if you are planning on attending

11 a.m. - Paul Colburn's presentation: “Black Bears in Connecticut”

12 p.m. - Light lunch will be served

Please bring your children to help us decorate Fairy Houses for our planned Fairy walk that we will create at one of our properties.

When you arrive at Jackson Cove Park, please let the gate attendants know that you are there for the Oxford Land Trust event at the Pavilion and you will receive free entrance.

Kids to learn about black bears at Ansonia Library program

 

Learn about black bears at presentation Thursday at Ansonia High School

UPDATE ON LOCATION: At 6 p.m. Thursday, Animal Control Officer Jeanie Roslonowski will be hosting a Wildlife Seminar at Ansonia High School.

It will be a Black Bear presentation by Felicia Ortner, CT Master Wildlife conservationist and Allison Matula, CT licensed Wildlife Rehabber and CT NWCO , the role of a Rehabilitator.

This event is free and open to the public. Surrounding towns are also welcome. Hope to see you at Ansonia High School Thursday at 6 p.m.

Presentation about black bears slated at Ansonia Armory

ANSONIA - Animal Control Officer Jeanie Roslonowski will be hosting a Wildlife Seminar at 6 p.m. Aug. 4 at the Ansonia Armory, 5 State St.

Kellogg Environmental Center in Derby to host virtual presentation on black bears

 

DERBY - The Kellogg Environmental Center will host an online presentation, “Black Bears in Connecticut,” by DEEP Wildlife Biologist Kyle Testerman at 6 p.m. April 26.  

Registration is required.

As black bears continue to expand their range across the state, more and more Connecticut residents are crossing paths with these large mammals in their own backyards.  

This presentation will educate all Connecticut residents on how to coexist with bears and reduce conflicts.   The presentation is suitable for all audiences.  

Topics will include the natural history of black bears in Connecticut and how Wildlife Biologists study and manage the bear population.
