ANSONIA - Join the cast and crew of the Midsummer Fantasy Renaissance Faire for our 2024 season!

Participant sign-ups and cast auditions will be held Feb. 24, noon-6 p.m. and Feb. 25, 1-6 p.m. at St. Joseph's Parish, 32 Jewett St.

Auditions for Renaissance Faire slated at St. Joseph's Church in Ansonia

ANSONIA - This year marks the 11th year of the Midsummer Fantasy Renaissance Faire and we want YOU to join our crew! 

Our dates for 2023 are June 24-25, July 1-2, and July 8-9. MFRF is held at Warsaw Park, 119 Pulaski Highway.

We will be holding our participant sign up event and cast auditions at St. Joseph's Parish, 32 Jewett St. Feb. 18 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. and Feb.19 from 1-6 p.m.

The faire has its own original storyline set in a fantasy world, that will be performed in six scenes throughout each faire day. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to audition.

Center Stage Theatre in Shelton will hold auditions for the Alan Mencken musical version of "A Christmas Carol" on Sept. 22 between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. 
It is directed by Scott Brill assisted by Brett Boles, as musical director, and Todd Santa Maria as choreographer. 
Seeking interested adults, teens, and children (4th grade and older). 
All roles are open.

Valley Shakespeare Festival to hold auditions

SHELTON - Valley Shakespeare Festival will hold local CT AEA and Non AEA auditions from 11 a.m.-3:30 p.m. March 11 at the Community Center, 41 Church St., in Craft Room 5, for its productions of Thornton Wilder’s Our Town, and William Shakespeare's The Comedy of Errors and Twelfth Night.

Candidates must prepare two contrasting Shakespeare monologues; if skilled on a musical instrument, please bring it and have a 16-bar selection ready to play.  
Candidates may be asked to read from the script and should bring a resume and photo, stapled together.

All roles are open, paid positions available, Equity points offered for Twelfth Night.

Our Town is a “one-time performance” community event which will be performed on the evening of May 2 beginning at 7 p.m. in three historic Valley sites.  
Rehearsals will run April 24 through May 1, weekdays 7-10 p.m., weekends 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. at Shelton Community Center.

The Comedy of Errors is a non-Equity touring production which will run from April 24-May 12 with daytime performances.  
Rehearsals will be held at the Community Center, April 17-22, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

Twelfth Night is a free outdoor production in Shelton’s Veterans Memorial-Riverwalk Park, open to the general public. Four performances run July 13–16.   
Rehearsals begin June 26 and continue through July 8, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. in the Community Center; tech rehearsal at venue July 11-12.

AEA SPT Tier II contract for Equity members; Equity points offered for non-AEA performers.  

Valley Shakespeare Festival's 2017 season begins with the latest edition in its Shakespeare in the Bar series, “The Merry Wives of Windsor” on Wednesday and Thursday, March 1 and 2 at Caloroso Bar and Eatery, 100 Center St.

Admission is $20 in advance for table seat, $15 for bar seats and $25 at the door.

Valley Shakespeare Festival to hold auditions at Shelton Community Center

Troupe to stage Pericles, Prince of Tyre, and The Taming of the Shrew

Audition info:
When: March 26 from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. (Lunch break noon-1 p.m.)

Where: Shelton Community Center, 41 Church St., Shelton

Seeking:  Actors with strong command for language and ensemble building for our Spring/Summer Season consisting of a non-equity touring production of Pericles, Prince of Tyre and an Equity/Non-Equity outdoor production of The Taming of the Shrew.

Touring production of Pericles (non-Equity only) Daytime Rehearsals: 4/18-4/23 with performances from 4/27-6/4.  Pay: $150-$200 Rehearsal Week and $55-$60 per performance, all actors will be contracted as teaching artists and assigned as Assistant Stage Managers.

Outdoor production of The Taming of the Shrew (Equity/Non-Equity) Daytime rehearsals from 6/27-7/13 and Performances from 7/14-7/17.  
Pay: SPT contract $269 and for Non-Equity $100-$200 per week.  
Also looking for candidates for our Apprentice program for elementary through high school students.

Please have two one-minute contrasting classical monologues prepared.   
Sides will also be provided at auditions.

Shelton troupe slates auditions for 'Mother Hicks'

SHELTON - Center Stage Theatre Director Gary Scarpa has announced auditions for the play "Mother Hicks," will be held from 10 a.m.-noon Aug. 23 at Center Stage, 54 Grove St.
      
Scarpa is seeking experienced and inexperienced actors of all ages.

Shelton troupe to hold auditions for 'Peter Pan'

SHELTON - Gary Scarpa, artistic director, Center Stage Theatre, 54 Grove St., has announced the audition schedule for the Youth CONNection's production of "Peter Pan." 

The musical will be performed this summer at Shelton High School's Percy Kingsley Auditorium, 120 Meadow St.

High school and college students will audition at 10 a.m.- 1p.m. May 23, and elementary and middle school students will audition from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. May 24.

Renaissance Faire to hold auditions in Ansonia

ANSONIA - Midsummer Fantasy Renaissance Faire will hold auditions from 11:30 a.m.- 6 p.m. Saturday and 1-7 p.m. Sunday at St. Joseph Church, 32 Jewett St.

For those who wish to volunteer (help out without being a character): 
If you’re looking to just lend a hand and help out without interacting with patrons, we ask you to show up so we can meet you and chat with you for a minute about what we are and how you can be a part of our faire. 
You also still need a form of ID so we know you’re you.

For scripted and unscripted cast: 
If you’re looking to be scripted cast or wandering cast, you will need:
* A short monologue to perform (1 minute max)
* A short song if you want to be a part of the signing group (The Voices of Anleigh singing group will be looking to fill a few spots)
* If you have a resume and a headshot, we’ll take it (not tequired)
* A Form of Identification so we know you’re you

So come and join our faire family, or come back. 
It’s a lot of fun and great stage experience for both behind the scenes and in front of the public.
