Seymour PInk seeks donations to reach this year's 5K goal

SEYMOUR - As many nonprofit organizations do, Seymour Pink relies on its donations. Our 5K in October each year is our biggest source of donations!

Last year, we realized over $100,000 in donations from our 5K. This allowed us to help over 130 breast cancer patients and their families financially. Additionally, we were able to send those that applied for financial assistance last year, a $500 Visa gift card for their holiday season.

All of this happens because of the incredible generosity of our community.

We are currently at just over $26,000 in donations for the 5K.

Your donations, big or small, lift the financial burdens placed on the shoulders of our breast cancer patients due to their barbaric treatment. YOU MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

Registration opens Saturday for Pounding the Pavement for Pink 5K in Seymour

We invite you to join us for our 12th Annual Pounding the Pavement for Pink 5k and Kids Race taking place in person in Seymour on Oct.  7 or virtually wherever you are, throughout that weekend. This event is our largest fundraiser of the year.  In the last 10 years we have grown to have nearly 3,000 walkers and runners take the streets of the Seymour riverfront area, thousands of spectators, participants from 24 states, and most importantly, due to YOUR generous donations and fundraising efforts.... this event alone has now raised over $1 Million in the FIGHT AGAINST BREAST CANCER! Huge thanks goes to Rose's Family Restaurant in Oxford for a beautiful evening

Last Thursday the wonderful folks at Rose's Family Restaurant in Oxford honored breast cancer survivors who had registered for Saturday's Pounding the Pavement for Pink 5K.

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

A friend and I attended the dinner and were overwhelmed by the family's generosity and thoughtfulness.

We enjoyed a delicious buffet and we all took home a pink rose.

I encourage my local friends to support Rose's! The restaurant has been a long-time supporter of Seymour Pink, a community's fight against breast cancer, and it's time to support them.
