ANSONIA - The Derby Historical Society has been selected as a beneficiary of the Big Y Community Bag Program for the month of January.
The Big Y Community Bag Program, which launched in January 2019, is a reusable bag program that facilitates community support with the goal to make a difference in the communities where shoppers live and work.
The Derby Historical Society was selected as the January 2020 beneficiary by store leadership at Big Y, 656 New Haven Ave., Derby.
The Derby Historical Society will receive a $1 donation every time the $2.50 reusable Community Bag is purchased at this location during January unless otherwise directed by the customer through the Giving Tag attached to the bag.
“We are excited that the Big Y continues to show its support to the Derby Historical Society,” said Daniel L. Bosques, Executive Director of the Derby Historical Society. “This donation campaign will continue to help us Preserve our Place in History.”
The Derby Historical Society is a non-profit based at the David Humphreys House, 37 Elm St.
Founded in 1946, the Derby Historical Society has served as the Lower Naugatuck Valley’s regional historical organization.
