Derby Public Library to host author talk

DERBY - Derby Public Library will host a talk by mystery author Deborah Vadas Levison at 6:30 p.m March 29.

"The Crate" explores family intrigue and a real life murder mystery.
Reviewers have called it “gorgeous and poetic,” “heart-wrenching,” and “a brilliant story” and it has won seven literary awards.
Levison’s debut fiction novel, "A Nest of Snakes" is part thriller, part courtroom drama based on real-life abuse at elite New England private schools.
Reviewers call it “a roller-coaster ride of surprising twists” leading to a “staggering climax and an absolutely perfect ending.” Monster Librarian hails "A Nest of Snakes" as one of the fall’s most talked-about novels.
Levison lived in Canada, where she attended University of Toronto and the Royal Conservatory of Music. She now resides in Connecticut, where she lives with three children, two doodles, and one husband.

Lifelong Ansonia resident desperately needs kidney

I cannot say it any better than those friends of Diane who have already written lovingly on Facebook about her urgent need for a kidney.

As a kidney recipient from an altruistic donor nearly six years ago I can commiserate with her plight.

I hope and pray the same good fortune will fall upon Diane and someone will soon come forward to give her the gift of renewed good health.
