DERBY- Stop in to Derby Neck Library at 5 p.m. Tuesday to read to dogs and Be A Reading Kid (B.A.R.K.)! 

We are excited to welcome certified therapy dogs Spirit and Brian back to the Derby Neck Library. Both pups love children and are fantastic listeners. 

Reading aloud to a dog provides an attentive audience and may boost a child’s confidence in their reading skills. Each participant will receive a commemorative photo of themselves with the dogs, as well as an experience they won’t soon forget!

Both pups love children and are fantastic listeners. Reading aloud to a dog provides an attentive audience and may boost a child's confidence in their reading skills.

Spirit is ready to listen to young readers.

DERBY - Miss Kathy at Derby Neck Library will host another popular B.A.R.K. program at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23.
All ages are invited to drop in and BE A READING KID to a guest dog at the library, 307 Hawthorne Ave.

SPIRIT, who is a Newfoundland, is a great listener and will be here once again for children to read to. 

You can bring your own book or choose one of ours from the library. And if children simply want to stop in to just say hello and visit, that’s cool too.

No registration is needed. Just drop in.

Ollie loves to have children read to him.

DERBY - Children ages 4-11 are invited to read to Ollie Tuesday in a program from 4-5 p.m. at Derby Public Library.
Part of the popular B.A.R.K. (Be A Reading Kid) program at the Library, this is a great opportunity for beginner, experienced, and reluctant readers to build confidence, enhance literary skills achieved during the school year and develop a love of reading. 
Children are given a 10-minute time slot and may select a book from Ollie’s Book Picks to share with him. 
The Library is at 313 Elizabeth St.
