From the 'Turnback Tuesday' archives: Vintage postcard for State of CT
This week's "Turnback Tuesday" features this postcard for the State of Connecticut.
In the top right-hand corner is a part of the Great Seal of the State of CT.
The three grape vines support and bear fruit while the ribbon below contains the Latin Motto “Qui Transtulit Sustinet” which means “He who transplanted sustains.”
This has been a part of the seal since May of 1784.
This post was first published on this date in 2018.
Thanks goes to the Derby Public Library staff for sharing interesting local and state history each week.
