Recuperation journey: Fall foliage, where art thou?

I realize the trees started to change colors in the past few days but I'm impatient! 
I just want to take photos on a beautiful autumn day. 
Is that too much to ask of Mother Nature? 

Here are some of my favorites from past autumnal photo hunts in the Valley:

'Halloween Hoopla' health and safety fair slated at Warsaw Park in Ansonia

ANSONIA - The 16th Annual Children’s Health and Safety Fair will be “treating” families to Halloween fun Oct. 27 from 3-7 p.m. at Warsaw Park, 119 Pulaski Highway.

Griffin Hospital Community Outreach and Valley Parish Nurse Program, Safe Kids Greater Naugatuck Valley, Griffin Faculty Physicians, and Avangrid encourage families to put on their Halloween costumes and come to a “Halloween Hoopla,” featuring free healthy treats, games, and information on a variety of health, wellness and safety programs. 

The event will be held rain or shine.

Interactive health, wellness, and safety displays will include poison prevention, good hand washing, and how to call 911. 

There will also be a bike helmet clinic and a safety house exhibit to teach about safety features in homes. Free, fitted bike helmets will be available for the first 500 children.

Seymour Recreation to offer aquatic exercise class

Girls' volleyball team to play benefit game for Seymour Pink

SEYMOUR - The Seymour High School girls' volleyball team will play its PINK game to benefit Seymour Pink Friday. 
The Junior Varsity game starts at 4:45 p.m. followed by the Varsity game at 6 p.m.

The game will be played at the school, 2 Botsford Road.

American Legion Post 16 in Shelton to hold flag retirement Sunday

SHELTON - When the United States flag becomes worn, torn, faded, or badly soiled, it is time to replace it. The old flag should be "retired" with all the dignity and respect befitting the nation's flag. 
The traditional method of retirement is incineration.
Residents who have flags to be retired may drop them off at Sutter-Terlizzi, American Legion Post 16, 295 Old Bridgeport Ave. 

A metal red, white, and blue flag deposit box is located at the front porch of the post.

American Legion Post 16 will hold a flag retirement ceremony at 1:30 p.m. Sunday.
Post members as well as area Boy and Girl Scouts will take part in the ceremony. Scouts from each unit will be part of the flag retirement detail as well as two Girl Scouts reading the poem “I am the Flag” and a Boy Scout leading the group in the Pledge of Allegiance.

The public is invited to attend the ceremony. Scout groups are encouraged to attend in uniform with their unit colors. Scouts wishing to take part in the ceremony are requested to arrive 15 minutes early.
