Parade of Champions celebrates Ansonia Chargers, Coppers cheerleaders

Ansonia Mayor David S. Cassetti poses Sunday with the Class S Champion Chargers after a parade on Main Street to celebrate them and the Ansonia Coppers' 2016 AYC National Championship title.

Derby Historical Society hosts annual Christmas Fair, Cookie Walk

Derby Historical Society docents greeted more than 30 visitors Sunday at the organization's annual Christmas Fair and Cookie Walk.  
The fund-raising event was held at the Society's headquarters in the David Humphreys House, 37 Elm St., Ansonia.

Church in Derby shows us the reason for the season

The reason for the season is on display in the sanctuary of First Congregational Church in Derby where I am a member. Kudos to our friend Barbara for her wonderful decorating job.

The candles are lit on the Advent wreath telling the faithful the arrival of the Christ child is near.

Derby Historical Society postpones Christmas fair

Update: The Christmas fair has been postponed. It will be held from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Sunday.

ANSONIA - The Derby Historical Society has postponed the start of its Christmas Fair and Cookie Walk until noon today, weather permitting.

The annual event will be held at the David Humphreys House, 37 Elm St. from noon-3 p.m.

Purchase unique, hand-crafted items from our talented docents, colonial toys or historical books in our gift shop, to finish up that last minute gift shopping. 
There will be fresh-baked cookies available at $5 for 18 cookies! 

Please use your discretion regarding the weather!
