Photo experiment at moonrise

The sky was so clear today I had to take a photo of the moon, and the flag. Not sure if I like it; I was experimenting.

The moon was in a waxing gibbous phase, 67 percent illumination.

The color from the sunset was reflected in the sky giving it a purplish tint. The moon will be full on New Year's Day.
