Recuperation journey: A trip to Milford
A view of L.I. Sound and Charles Island on a sunny afternoon.
The folks in the boat are definitely practicing social distancing.
Artfish 42 is a cool art gallery at 42 Naugatuck Ave., at Walnut Beach in Milford.
I highly recommend you check it out when the quarantine is finally over!
Tomorrow is Ralph's birthday but since we can't go anywhere to celebrate we took a "ride" around the region today, socially distancing of course.
It's supposed to rain around here tomorrow so we took advantage of some sunshine. He said he enjoyed his present.

Recuperation journey: Adopted a(nother) gnome
MILFORD - As I was checking out the vendors Sunday along Naugatuck Avenue at the 19th annual Walnut Beach Arts Festival I spied a group of gnomes.
They were sitting on seashells and pieces of coral and I thought they were adorable.
I just had to get one to add to my collection.
He's sitting on a piece of shell.
Meet Shelly.

Derby artist paints outside at Walnut Beach Arts Festival
Valley Arts Council President Rich DiCarlo paints a mermaid Sunday outside of Artfish42 art gallery during the 19th annual Walnut Beach Arts Festival in Milford.
The daylong event is hosted by the Walnut Beach Association.
Marina the mermaid takes shape.
It was really hot in the sun but looking out at the water helped to make us feel cooler.

Ansonia students to leap into icy water to benefit Literacy Volunteers
Sharing from the Ansonia Public Schools Facebook page:
ANSONIA - Ansonia High School's National Honor Society will be joining the many other brave, warm-hearted souls who will “take the leap” March 17 for Literacy Volunteers of Southern Connecticut.
“Leapers” from around the area will collect donations from family members, co-workers and friends, and run, jump, or dive into the icy cold waters at Walnut Beach in Milford.
Please support the NHS members who are willing to run into frigid waters to support the literacy efforts in our community.
