Ansonia Police seek information on 2 accidents Sunday



ANSONIA - An Ansonia police officer was advised by a motorist at about 4:30 p.m. Sunday that their car had been struck by a gray Jeep at the intersection of Bridge and West Main streets, left the scene and was last seen on Pershing Drive, Lt. Patrick Lynch said in a release today. 


The officer attempted to locate the Jeep and found that the Jeep was involved in a second accident on Pershing Drive at Division Street. 


In the second accident the Jeep struck two more vehicles before hitting a pole and catching on fire. The four occupants of the Jeep were all injured with one of them suffering serious head and neck injuries. That passenger is currently in critical condition. 

The names of the parties involved will not be released at this time.

 

Chief Williams would like to thank the Derby Police Department, Ansonia Rescue Medical Services, Ansonia Fire Department, and the Fairfield Police Department Crash Reconstruction Team for their assistance at the scene and during this investigation.

 

The investigation is ongoing and information will be released as it becomes available and necessary to release.
