Friends of the Ansonia Library to hold annual book sale

ANSONIA - The Friends of the Ansonia Library Annual Book Sale is once again making available to the public a wide range of books, CDs, and games.
The sale is open to the public from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Nov. 19 in the library’s Community Room, which is accessible from its entrance on Cottage Avenue.

All proceeds from the sale go toward funding library events that benefit the community. Donations of new or slightly used books are being accepted at the library at 53 South Cliff St. by appointment only. Textbooks and encyclopedia sets will not be accepted.
All items are priced to sell and donations will be accepted.

The goal of the book sale is to raise money while also clearing the library storage areas of accumulated books, CDs, and games.
Past book sales have provided funding for a range of purchases, events, and performances.

According to Children’s Librarian Jennifer Shuart, FOTAL purchased sets of LEGO plastic interlocking bricks for the monthly LEGO Club, which allows children to create whatever their imaginations dream up.
The book sale proceeds have also been used to provide live stage performances by the East Haddam Stage Company, such as a Sherlock Holmes radio show and an actor who portrayed Osaki San, the valet of actor William Gillette, owner of Connecticut’s famous Gillette’s Castle in East Haddam.

For more information or to donate items, contact Ansonia Library, 203-734-6275 or FOTAL at fotalansonia@gmail.com.
