Gordon-Visselli American Legion Post 50 in Ansonia to host Legion Liftoff on July 4

ANSONIA - The Gordon-Visselli American Legion Post 50 will host its LEGION LIFTOFF again on Independence Day. 

Blast off the day Monday watching 36 model rockets being launched from Nelligan Park in Ansonia’s hilltop. 

Join the anticipation in seeing which sky-high rocket will be successfully recovered or lost to rocket-eating trees and neighborhood rooftops.

Spectators may be invited to actually push the launch button and there will be a surprise participation element folded into the event this year for some of the launches.

This is a fair weather event. Lawn chairs and blankets are welcome. Free water will be provided.

This July 4 event will run from 10-11:30 a.m. (approx.) at Nelligan Park on Doyle Drive (off Prindle Avenue), Ansonia.
