Turnback Tuesday features antique clock at Derby Public Library

Turnback Tuesday this week features the interior of the Derby Public Library, specifically the built-in wall clock located in the original “Delivery Room & Circulation Desk” in the front entryway.

This clock was made by Walter H. Durfee and is mahogany with brass gilt nickel. It stands approximately 12 feet tall and has an eight-day, three train movement.
The painted dial shows two moons, a sailing ship, and landscape. This clock is original to the Library circa 1892-1902.

Thanks as always to the Derby Public Library for sharing this interesting local history.
