Salvation Army in Ansonia provides for Valley needy

Last Friday I posted a photo of workers at the Salvation Army headquarters at 26 Lester St., Ansonia praying before a food distribution.

My husband and I are Advisory Board members and we're working to give the community a better understanding of what the Salvation Army does for needy residents of the Valley.

Here is a collection photos from Friday morning, when 33 clients were served in 45 minutes during a well-organized distribution.

Volunteers Brenda Tennyson, left, and Danielle Welch unload a Salvation Army vehicle filled with food donated from area stores.

Friday is bread and pastry distribution day, but donations last week also included yogurt, cheese, milk, meat, juice, and fresh produce.
