Seymour Library to host author's talk on state history


SEYMOUR - Diana Ross McCain, author of It Happened in Connecticut, will discuss Connecticut events from history at 6 p.m. Sept. 16 at Seymour Library, 46 Church St.

McCain will talk about Alse Young’s story from Windsor - she was executed as a witch in Hartford on May 26, 1647.

In addition attendees will learn about convicted murderer Amy Duggan Archer-Gilligan (the alleged inspiration for Joseph Kesselring’s 1939 play, “Arsenic and Old Lace”), Connecticut’s renowned “Hiker” the Leatherman, and more.
