The Ansonia Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in locating a missing male who left his home on the 26th.

Elijah Longwa is a 16-year-old Black male, approximately 5’7” tall, weighing 120 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair. He was last seen wearing a black coat, as shown in the photo. Elijah is known to frequent the Bridgeport area.

Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is asked to contact the Ansonia Police Department at 203-735-1885.

Winter weather and technology don't mix well, it seems

Please don't laugh. But I have a theory. 

I'm not technologically savvy, probably because I was born about three decades too soon.

But with this incessant cold weather I'm beginning to think my desktop is just not having it. Suddenly it is taking forever to perform the simplest tasks, i.e. "save image as," posting an image, or previewing a blog post before publishing it.

Fingers crossed the computer will get used to this bitter cold and start cooperating. 

OK rant over. Time for lunch!

Exchange Club of Shelton to hold mini-golf fundraiser Saturday in Ansonia

ANSONIA - The Exchange Club of Shelton will host its 12th annual mini-golf fundraiser at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Boys and Girls Club, 26 Howard Ave.

It includes 18 holes of indoor mini golf, dinner, and bar. Event is for adults only. Theme is the Big Game  (football).

Derby Police charge man after snow removal dispute

DERBY - Police officers were dispatched to the area of Olivia Street Tuesday for a reported fight involving a firearm stemming from a dispute between neighbors over snow removal.

Witnesses reported that Nekee Dickson, 46, of Derby, produced a firearm and pointed it at the victim during a verbal argument. Video evidence obtained during the investigation confirmed the witness statements.

Although Dickson possessed a valid pistol permit, the investigation determined he was the aggressor in the incident. As a result, Dickson was taken into custody and charged with the following:

CGS 53a-181 – Breach of Peace

CGS 53a-63 – Reckless Endangerment in the 1st Degree

The firearm involved in the incident was seized by police.

The Derby Police Department reminds all residents to remain patient and respectful with one another, particularly as we collectively navigate snow removal challenges and limited on-street parking during winter weather.

All arrestees are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
