In response, the City has been working closely with St. Vincent de Paul Food Bank and Thrift Shop of Derby, which immediately assisted the affected families by providing access to food, clothing, and other essential items. St. Vincent de Paul will continue to support these families as they address their ongoing needs.

Additionally, the City has coordinated with Valley United Way to establish a secure mechanism for financial donations. Through the generosity of Valley United Way, 100% of all funds donated through this effort will be distributed directly to the displaced families.

TEAM, Inc. to collect flood relief donations at Seymour Stop & Shop

Thank you for the incredible outpouring of support for those impacted by Sunday’s flood. In just 24 hours, TEAM has collected $2,600 (increasing by the minute!) That is the strength of our community coming together. https://teaminc.org/donate/
TEAM’s Valley Flood Relief Fund will be used for direct assistance in supporting Valley individuals and households impacted by the flood, including but not limited to modest levels of support for their personal health & safety, shelter, and/or other basic living needs (100% of these funds will be used towards direct assistance to Valley residents – TEAM does not and will not take any administrative fees).
Just yesterday, we helped an Oxford resident get needed drinking water and propane tanks. As additional needs become apparent, such as finding another housing option or replacing clothing, medical equipment, or other basic essentials, TEAM will work with households to determine their situation, needs and eligibilities and will assist in establishing plans of action and providing direct assistance funds. We recognize this is one piece in the larger scope of response & recovery – and we continue to appreciate and appeal to our State & Federal leaders as response & recovery continues to please leverage critically-needed resources into our Valley communities.
Visit TEAM staff & volunteers outside Seymour’s Stop & Shop this Thursday morning and this weekend to help us collect funds for the Valley Flood Relief Fund. If interested in volunteering to help us on these days, contact lmckenzie@teaminc.org.
More info and updates to come...
Please continue to reach out to First Responders for immediate crisis response.
