SEYMOUR - Join us at 1 p.m. Sept. 6 in the lower level auditorium of Seymour Public Library to watch a movie! 

Light refreshments will be served.

We'll be showing "My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2" starring Nia Vardalos, John Corbett and Michael Constantine. 

It is rated PG-13 and its duration is 1 hour 34 minutes. 

Summary: A Portokalos family secret brings the beloved characters back together for an even bigger and Greeker wedding.

Derby Public Library to close Monday for Labor Day holdiay

 

Derby Public Library will be closed on Monday, September 4 in observance of the Labor Day holiday.

Outside book drops will be open to return items. The Library is at 313 Elizabeth St.

Seymour Lions Club to hold cruise night at Tri-Town Plaza

SEYMOUR - The weekly show will be from 5-8 p.m. today.

We take pride in the part we play bringing car enthusiasts together to celebrate a time when the automobile was more than just an appliance. We invite all hot rods, street rods, rat rods, classic, custom, trucks, motorcycles, and antiques to join us.
As local car aficionados showcase their vintage, classic, and custom cars, trucks and motorcycles and all the work they have done on them, there are opportunities to network and uncover new ideas for local car enthusiasts.

Trophies will be awarded for the 1st, 2nd & 3rd place car/truck winners also a motorcycle trophy will be award.

Storykids Book Club for Grades K-2 slated at Seymour Public Library

SEYMOUR - This a Book Club for children in Grades K-2. Registration is required.

The first meeting will be Sept. 6 at 4 p.m. The next meetings after September will be 10/4, 11/1, 12/6.

We will be reading "The Missing Cupcake Mystery" by Tony Dungy and Lauren Dungy for the first meeting in September, and books are available at the library.

A minimum registration of three participants is required for this book club. If we don't meet the minimum, the book club will be canceled.
