Ansonia Nature Center program to focus on foxes, folklore


Sept. 17 is National Fox Day! 

Celebrate these wily critters with this fun, family-friendly program at 2 p.m. Sept. 18 at the Ansonia Nature Center. Learn about the two species of fox we have in Connecticut and the roles foxes have played in folklore around the world. 


FREE for all ages. Registration required at ansnaturectr@ansoniact.org.

Great Hill United Methodist Church in Seymour slates outdoor flea market


SEYMOUR  - Looking for your next great flea market find? 
If yes, join the Great Hill UMC community for their huge outdoor flea market on Saturday, Sept. 24, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Great Hill UMC Grove, 225 Great Hill Road.
There will be numerous vendor spaces, each 10' x 8' in our shaded grove. Vendors must supply their own tables/chairs.

Enjoy American comedy-drama this Friday at Seymour Public Library


SEYMOUR - Join us at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the lower level auditorium of Seymour Public Library for a movie!
Light refreshments will be served.
We'll be showing a 2021 American comedy-drama film starring Kevin Hart, Melody Hurd, Alfre Woodard, Lil Rel Howery, DeWanda Wise, Anthony Carrigan, Frankie R. Faison, and Paul Reiser. 
It is rated PG-13 and its duration is 1hour 49 minutes.

Ansonia Nature Center to hold field trip to Rowanwood Llama Farm


Rowanwood Llama Farm Field Trip – Sept. 17, 10:30 a.m. (meet in parking lot at 10:15)

Join the Ansonia Nature Center staff on a field trip to Rowanwood Llama Farm in Newtown for Cria Crawl Farm Tour!!!! 

Cria crawl is a personalized farm event where you will learn about our llamas and other animals on the rescue ranch. 

Enjoy this rare opportunity to be with these amazing animals, tea cup cow, goat, bunnies, and ducks up close on our beautiful property. They also have an authentic 3-generation Native American tipi you can explore! 

This wonderful adventure is enjoyable for ages 3 and up!

Derby Neck Library to host Youth Services Twitch Stream fun




DERBY - Follow Derby Neck Library's Twitch channel to watch Miss Krissy and Miss Sarah play a variety of games like Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Overcooked, Astro Bears, and even older games like The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask. 

This program will occur from 2-4 p.m. on Sept. 10, Oct. 8, Nov. 12, and Dec. 10.
