SEYMOUR - Seymour Public Library will host a Lynn Lewis and Friends online event from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Sept. 29.

Derby Public Library to sponsor 'AAA presents Under the Hood 101'

DERBY - Derby Public Library will sponsor 'AAA presents Under the Hood 101' in a virtual program via Zoom from 11 a.m.-noon Oct. 15.
All ages are welcome to participate.

An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure when it comes to basic car care maintenance. Learn some basic DIY maintenance work you can do to save time and money.

We will be using Zoom to facilitate this program. Registration is required.

Derby Historical Society to honor 54 patriots at burying ground ceremony

DERBY - The General David Humphreys Branch No.1 SAR and Derby Historical Society will hold a Revolutionary War Grave Marking Ceremony at 10 a.m. Oct. 17 at the Olde Derby Uptown Burying Ground. 

The SAR will commemorate 54 Patriots who are buried at the oldest public burying ground in the country, which is across from Academy Hill at Derby Avenue.

The Derby Historical Society invites the public to join us in honoring these individuals with a plaque dedication ceremony.

A short reception will follow at the back yard of the Gen. David Humphreys House, 37 Elm St., Ansonia.

The Derby Historical Society is a regional historical society dedicated to preserving, maintaining and celebrating the rich and varied history of the Lower Naugatuck Valley. 

The Derby Historical Society welcomes all visitors and is also available to support researchers, school or other program needs.  

Staff offices are located at the Sarah Riggs Humphreys House, 37 1/2 Elm St., Ansonia.
