Seymour Lions Club to host cruise night Thursday at Tri-Town Plaza


SEYMOUR - Cruises will be held from 5-8 p.m. Thursdays at Tri-Town Plaza, 850 Derby Ave.

This show will be lots for fun for the whole family, we take pride in the part we play bringing car enthusiasts together to celebrate a time when the automobile was more than just an appliance. We invite all hot rods, street rods, rat rods, classic, custom, trucks, motorcycles and antiques to join us.
As local car aficionados showcase their vintage, classic, and custom cars, trucks and motorcycles and all the work they have done on them, there are opportunities to network and uncover new ideas for local car enthusiasts.

Trophies will be awarded for the 1st, 2nd & 3rd place car/truck winners also a motorcycle trophy will be award. Our sponsors pick the winners! Music raffles, socializing makes for a fun night!

Seymour Lions Club to host '2020, Year of the Pandemic' car show Sunday



SEYMOUR - The Seymour Lions Club's '2020, Year of the Pandemic' car show will be held from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday at Tri-Town Plaza, 814 Derby Ave.
This show will be lots of fun for the whole family. We take pride in the part we play bringing car enthusiasts together to celebrate a time when the automobile was more than just an appliance. We invite all hot rods, street rods, rat rods, classic, custom, trucks, motorcycles, antiques, and anything unique to join us.
We are requiring that you social distance and wear your face mask if you are walking around.
As local car aficionados showcase their vintage, classic, and custom cars, trucks and motorcycles and all the work they have done on them, there are opportunities to network and uncover new ideas for local car enthusiasts.
Trophies will be awarded. This will be a judged show. 
Music, raffles, socializing makes for a great Sunday Funday!

SHELTON - The Shelton Historical Society will host its annual Father's Day Vintage Vehicles Antique & Classic Car Show from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. June 16 at Shelton History Center, 70 Ripton Road.

Spend Dad's day showing off your car or admiring others.
A day of fun, prizes, and camaraderie with your fellow antique and classic car enthusiasts. Refreshments, tours, and vote for your favorites!
Admission is $1 for dads, $5 individual, or $10 for a family of four.

Huntington Congregational Church to hold 6th annual antique car show

SHELTON - Huntington Congregational Church will host the Bruce E. Hartel Sixth Annual Memorial Antique Car Show from noon-4 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free.

The show will be held in the church parking lot, 19 Church St., across from the Huntington Green.  
All antique vehicles are welcome (from 1988 and prior).

All car clubs and individual owners are encouraged to attend.
People’s Choice Awards Voting closes at 3 p.m.
Demonstrations/‘Show and Tell’ are encouraged throughout the day. 

Donations are accepted and appreciated - to benefit the American Cancer Society and the Huntington Congregational Church Bruce E. Hartel Memorial Organ Fund. 

Food and drinks will be available for purchase.  
Free parking for spectators. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

View vintage vehicles on Father's Day at Shelton History Center

SHELTON - The annual Shelton History Center’s Vintage Vehicles Antique & Classic Car Show will be held on Father’s Day, June 17, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at 70 Ripton Road.

Visitors will be able to peek under the hoods of the cars they remember from nearly every 
decade of the 20th century. 
Two wheels or four, from Model Ts to muscle cars, there’s bound to be something that will trigger a memory for every visitor.  

Sometimes a fire truck shows up; one entry was a penny farthing, or high-wheeled bicycle. 
All vehicle owners generously share information, their cars, and their hobby with the public.   

Owners of antique and classic vehicles of all kinds may register to participate in this special event. Entry forms may be found at www.sheltonhistoricalsociety.org, or by calling 
203-925-1803.  
Registration costs $10. 

The Brownson House, while built c. 1822, is interpreted to a 1913 appearance and will be 
available for tours along with the other buildings at Shelton History Center.  

Visitors will enjoy refreshments and voting for their favorite vehicles. 
Admission is $1 for dads, $5/adults and $10/family of four. Proceeds will benefit the educational programs of the Shelton Historical Society, whose mission is to “preserve elements of the community’s history in order to create connections between Shelton’s past, present, and future generations through education, maintaining a museum with its collections, and providing a voice in the community regarding matters of historical significance.”

Shelton Historical Society to host antique car show Sunday



SHELTON - Enjoy a day with Dad and Granddad peeking under the hoods of the cars they 
remember from their youth at the Shelton Historical Society’s annual Vintage Vehicles Antique and Classic Car Show on Father's Day this Sunday.

Two wheels or four, from Model Ts to muscle cars, there’s bound to be something that 
will trigger a memory from every visitor.  This show will be held at Shelton History Center, 70 Ripton Road, from 10 a.m.- 3 p.m.

Past shows have featured everything from a 1928 Rolls Royce Phantom, to a restored 
rickshaw that was used as an ambulance in the San Francisco earthquake in 1906, to a 
1911 wood paneled Model T.  Nearly every decade of automotive history from the 20th 
century has been illustrated on the shaded grounds of the Shelton History Center with 
more recent muscle cars, Mustangs, and Army Jeeps joining many Ford Model As and Ts. 

All vehicle owners generously share information, their cars, and their hobby with the public with pride. 
Awards in five categories will be presented to crowd favorites.   
  
Visitors will enjoy tours of the buildings at Shelton History Center, refreshments, and 
voting for their favorite vehicles. Admission is $1 for dads, $5/adults and $10/family. 

Proceeds will benefit the educational programs of the Shelton Historical Society, whose
