This week's "Turnback Tuesday" is an image of Gen. Joseph Wheeler, Jr.'s boyhood home on Commerce Street in Derby.
Gen. Wheeler was born in September of 1836 and died at the age of 70 in January of 1906. His parents were Joseph Wheeler, Sr. and Julia Knox Hull-Wheeler. He was also the grandson of Gen. William Hull.
Although born in Georgia, Joseph, Jr. was sent to live with his uncle Levi Hull after the death of his mother in 1842.
