Ansonia man faces multiple charges after single-vehicle crash on Division Street

ANSONIA - Police arrested an Ansonia man after a single-vehicle accident involving a motorcycle at 3:14 a.m. Sunday on Division Street near Wakelee Avenue. 

Officers identified Marcise Glover, 44, as the operator of the motorcycle. 

Lt. Patrick Lynch said in a written release Tuesday Glover told officers he was riding on Division Street when he received a phone call and when he looked at his phone he lost control of the motorcycle and crashed. 

The motorcycle was reported stolen from Shelton and a 9mm handgun with no serial number was located in the backpack Glover was carrying. Additionally, a 9mm round was located in Glover's pant’s pocket.

Glover was arrested and charged with larceny of a motor vehicle, criminal possession of a pistol, failure to obtain serial number, operating under suspension, distracted driving, and failure to drive right. 

Glover posted a $150,000 bond and is scheduled to appear Sept. 16 at Derby Superior Court.
