Turnback Tuesday takes a closer look at one of its own: Mary V. Crowley.
Mary was an active member in the Derby Republican Party for about 40 years.
She was twice nominated to run for Mayor, first in 1975 then 1977. She served for many years as Registrar of Voters and on the Charter Revision Commission.
This image depicts her mayor campaign headquarters at 21 Minerva St., Derby. There is a community service plaque in Mary’s honor located here at Derby Public Library.

Thanks goes to the Derby Public Library staff for sharing interesting local history each week.
