'Turnback Tuesday' features circa 1905 postcard of downtown Derby

Turnback Tuesday looking north at Elizabeth Street in Derby in a different time. This postcard shows the corner of Elizabeth and 5th Streets. This image was captured circa 1905. The church on the corner was the Derby Methodist Episcopal Church built in 1837 which received an addition in 1894. The two homes pictured are 170 Elizabeth (left) and 169 Elizabeth (right.) The street is lined with elm trees as was the case throughout New England at the time.
Thanks goes to the Derby Public Library staff for sharing interesting local history each week.
