Ansonia police investigate 2 early Saturday morning shootings


ANSONIA - Officers on patrol at about 2 a.m. Saturday on Main Street in the area of Water Street heard several gunshots coming from the area of West Main Street, Lt. Patrick Lynch said in a press release.

When officers responded to the area, they found a male in the municipal parking lot who had been shot. 
Officers rendered medical aid until an ambulance arrived and the victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment. 
The male, a 26-year-old Ansonia resident, was shot multiple times in the upper body and is currently listed in serious but stable condition. While still on scene, Griffin Hospital reported a second victim of a gunshot at their facility. 
Officers responded to the hospital where the second victim, a 24-year-old Ansonia resident, was being treated for a single gunshot to the lower body. 
The second victim is currently listed in stable condition. 
The Derby and Seymour Police Departments assisted with securing the scene. The Ansonia Police Department is asking anyone with information to contact the department at 203-735-1885 or tips can be left anonymously at TIP411 at the link below.
