Historical fiction book is topic of discussion at Derby Public Library

DERBY - Derby Public Library's monthly Lunchtime Book Discussion is slated at 12:30 p.m. Oct. 30.
This month’s featured book is “News of the World” by Paulette Jiles.

Soon to be a major motion picture starring Tom Hanks, it was also a National Book Award Finalist for fiction.
In the aftermath of the Civil War, an aging itinerant news reader agrees to transport a young captive girl of the of the Kiowa back to her relatives in this exquisitely rendered, morally complex, multi-layered novel of historical fiction that explores the boundaries of family, responsibility, honor, and trust.

Lunchtime Book Discussions are held the last Wednesday of the month and are free and open to the public.
Multiple copies of the book will be available at the circulation desk.
Drop-ins are welcome; no registration is required.
