DERBY - Pat Sweeney, Derby Neck Library reference librarian, has been researching Connecticut women who worked for female suffrage 100 years ago.
She has developed a PowerPoint program about women fighting for the right to vote that she will present at 6:30 p.m. March 15 in the Community Room.
March is Women's History Month.
Included in Sweeney's talk are highlights from the lives of the noted women who participated in this movement in Connecticut—one even has special ties to the library.
Can you guess who that special lady may be?
Come learn about our local heritage and enjoy an engaging talk on how women struggled to get the vote in Connecticut.
Humor is always included.
The library is at 307 Hawthorne Ave.
