Photos shared from prayer service at church in Ansonia

More than 50 gather to remember victims

ANSONIA - I attended a moving service Thursday at Clinton AME Zion Church held to help heal hearts after the June 17 massacre of nine African-Americans who were taking part in a bible study group at Emmanuel AME Church in Charleston, S.C.

Please check out my story here in the Valley Independent Sentinel

The Rev. Jeffrey Gubbiotti, pastor, Assumption Church in Ansonia, was one of the clergy members who led participants in prayer in Thursday's Community Prayer Service for the Healing of Our Land.

Participants pray for healing of the nation in the wake of the deadly shootings in
Charleston, S.C. The event was sponsored by the Ansonia Branch 2000 of the NAACP.

Greg Johnson, President of the Ansonia Branch of the NAACP, speaks during the service.
