Learn about diabetes at Derby Public Library presentation
DERBY - Join Mary Swansiger, R.N., and Amanda Fowler of Griffin Hospital’s “Glucose Zone” - Diabetes Education and Support Group, at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 30 at Derby Public Library.
They will present a lively lecture and discussion about how both diet modification and exercise specific for people with pre-diabetes and diabetes can successfully reduce, reverse, and control diabetes and their symptoms.
Come speak with program participants who did reverse their blood sugars.
This event is co-sponsored by the Derby Centennial Lions Club and Griffin Hospital’s “Glucose Zone” program.

Fundraiser slated in Ansonia for Tripp mayoral campaign

ANSONIA - Join Lt. Gov. Susan Bysiewicz Monday at a fundraiser held by the Tripp for Mayor Campaign in Ansonia.
Enjoy the company of friends and a conversation about how mayoral candidate Phil Tripp can be the change you want to see locally.
The event will be held at the Central Subalpi Club, 30 Parker St. from 5-7 p.m.
Suggested donation of $50 will be payable at the door.
There will be a selection of hors d’oeuvres and Italian eats, made by one of our Ansonia resident’s local restaurants. Assorted soft drinks and a cash bar will also be available.
Phil Tripp has dedicated his life to this country, serving 34 years between the U.S. Army, Army Reserve, and National Guard, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel.
Locally, he has tirelessly continued his service to the community by fulfilling his duty as an alderman over the last eight years. Still, he is looking to do more for the residents of Ansonia. Tripp was humbled by his nomination and is enthusiastic to roll up his sleeves and get to work on behalf of Ansonia as their mayoral candidate.
