What help is out there for minorities who want to start and grow businesses in Connecticut?

That is the topic of the latest edition of “The Senate Reports,” Sen. George S. Logan’s Access TV show which can be viewed at www.SenatorGeorgeLogan.com.

His featured guest is Guilaine Menefee of The Black Business Alliance.

“Guilaine Menefee provides some excellent information on the help that is readily available for minority-owned businesses,” Logan said. “We want to do all we can to help people start up and expand their businesses and create Connecticut jobs. We also want to help minority entrepreneurs to expand their contacts by meeting other minority entrepreneurs in our state. St. Vincent De Paul thrift shop in Derby holding sale this week

Painting given to mayor features a slice of Derby's past

I meant to share this last week when I saw it on Derby Mayor Rich Dziekan's Facebook page. It's a beautiful painting of the historic cobblestone hill on Caroline Street in downtown Derby. 

From Dziekan:
"A special thank you to Neil Dorso and his wife Barbara for presenting me with her painting of Caroline Street. Notice the detail in the cobblestones that used to adorn the surface. This looks great on my office wall."

A New Haven Register story was published in September 2016 about the removal of the cobblestones.
