Teens invited to game time, advisory board meeting in July at Derby Public Library

 

DERBY - On July 1, 8, 15, and 22, from 1-2:30 p.m., Derby Public Library invites young adults ages 12 to 17 to YA Wednesdays, Teen Game Time. Nintendo Wii and tabletop games are available. 

These are “Plant a Seed, Read!” Teen Summer Club events! Attendees earn credit towards prizes. Light refreshments will be provided.

Teen Advisory Board to meet

On July 29 from 1-2:30 p.m., Derby Public Library invites all young adults ages 12 to 17 to Teen Advisory Board meeting where attendees are encouraged to voice their ideas for improving and expanding young adult library services and teen programming. 

Focus will include participant input that contributes to the library fulfilling its mission of quality-of-life enhancements in: knowledge; entertainment; and citizenship.

Derby Public Library offers virtual activities for teens in July

DERBY - Derby Public Library invites all young adults ages 12 to 17 to a Virtual Teen Advisory Board Meeting from 3-4 p.m. Wednesdays, July 1, 15, and 29.

Attendees are encouraged to voice their ideas for improving and expanding young adult library services offered during library closure, as well as in-house programming once re-opened to the public. 

Focus will include participant input that contributes to the library fulfilling its mission of quality-of-life enhancements in: knowledge; entertainment; and citizenship. 

Zoom meeting access will be provided by emailing dplreference@biblio.org. 

These programs are part of the DPL Teen Summer Club – Imagine Your Story! 

Also on Wednesdays, July 8 and 22, from 3-4 p.m., the Library invites young adults ages 12 to 17 to a virtual Teen Audiobook SYNC chat where attendees are encouraged to engage in lively evaluations of two thematically-paired audiobooks to be offered weekly.

Derby Public Library to hold virtual Teen Summer Club

DERBY - Derby Public Library invites all young adults ages 12 to 17 to this season’s virtual Teen Summer Club, Imagine Your Story! 
Club members should sign up at the library’s Eventkeeper program registration link which opens starting June 15 and club programming beginning June 24. 
Club members will gather through Zoom meetings with links to be provided after registration for each event. 
The seven-week summer club will include Maker Space activities, as well as Teen Advisory Board meetings, Audiobook SYNC chats, and member reviews of books and websites. 
Active members will earn a participation gift.

Derby Public Library to hold Teen Summer Club

DERBY - The Derby Public Library invites young adults ages 12 to 17 to join the 2017 Teen Summer Club. 
This year’s theme is “Build a Better World” encouraging members to engage in various creative outlets while making new friends and exploring resources. 

Registration continues through mid-July. Club members will meet Thursdays from 1:30-3 p.m. 
Available resources include 3D design programs, 3D printer, 3D doodle pens, Legos, and more! 
Light snacks will be provided. 
Members will earn credit for each event attended. Attendance at two events and completing a book review will earn members a $20 gift card from the Connecticut Sports Center. A grand prize winner will be drawn at the club’s finale pizza party Aug. 10. 

YA Wednesdays

The Library hosts YA Wednesdays every month from 6-7:30 p.m. 
All young adults ages 12 to 17 are invited to join the fun each Wednesday in July as Nintendo Wii, board games, and Legos will be available.
