Echo Hose Ambulance in Shelton slates weekend EMT classes

SHELTON - Echo Hose Ambulance will hold an Accelerated Weekend EMT Class beginning Nov. 6. 

Classes meet from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. 

Class ends Dec. 18. Seating is limited. Tuition is $985 which includes all books and materials needed for the class.

Seymour Ambulance, ARMS seek financial support for seriously injured EMT

Joshua Henriquez, a Lieutenant and EMT with Seymour EMS and an EMT with Ansonia Rescue and Medical Services, Naugatuck EMS, and member of the Seymour Fire Department. was struck by a vehicle while running training for his first marathon.

Joshua sustained some serious injuries and has been hospitalized since. He has multiple fractures, lacerations, and road rash throughout his body.

Josh is hoping to be discharged today [Friday] but has a very long road of recovery ahead of him.

Joshua needs our support just like he has supported his community! We have set up a Venmo account that will go directly to him. We hope raise enough money so that Josh does not need to worry about anything as he recovers. It goes without saying, Josh will be out of work for several months.

Shelton's Echo Hose Ambulance, Fairfield U. to co-host EMT class in fall

SHELTON - Echo Hose Ambulance and the Fairfield University Public Safety Department are excited to announce a new Saturday Only EMT class beginning Sept. 7.
Classes will meet Saturdays from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Some Saturday practical classes will meet in Shelton at the Echo Hose Ambulance Training Center.
Class will end Dec. 14.

*Students who can't attend a class on a Saturday due to illness, conflict, etc. will be able to attend the missed class the following day on Sunday at our Training Center in Shelton. Students are welcome to attend classes either at Fairfield University, in Shelton, or a combination of both locations throughout the semester due to scheduling conflicts that may arise.

The class will meet from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. weekdays at Echo Hose Community Training Center, St. Joseph Campus, 430 Coram Ave.

SHELTON - Echo Hose Ambulance has scheduled summer EMT classes.

WHEN: June 4 - Aug. 22, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, 8 a.m.-noon or 6-10 p.m.

WHERE: Echo Hose Ambulance, 430 Coram Ave., Shelton (former St. Joseph Grammar School).

Students must attend one session a day. Attend either a morning or evening session, students' choice.

"Stacey has been helping people in Shelton and the surrounding communities for over 25 years. She works part time as an EMT in Shelton and is one of the full time medical dispatchers at Southwest CMED. SW CMED manages all emergency medical calls that occur in Shelton.

Seymour Ambulance to hold EMT course

SEYMOUR - The Seymour Ambulance Association will hold an EMT-Basic class beginning May 18 and running through July 14.

The class will meet Mondays through Thursdays from 8 a.m. to noon, with three Saturday classes.

Saturday classes will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

All sessions are held at Seymour Ambulance Association, 4 Wakeley St.

The cost of the course is $750. It includes text, access to online course navigation, uniforms, and online test prep.
