Summer festival, car show on tap at Colonial Tavern in Oxford

OXFORD - The 6th Annual Barefoot Summer Festival and 8th Annual Car Show will be held from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Aug. 19 at Colonial Tavern, 24 Hawley Road.
The Barefoot Summer Festival is hosted by Colonial Tavern to benefit CT Partnership for Children, Inc.

Ticket prices are: General admission $5; Pre-registered car $10; Day of classic car $15.

VFW Post 12084 to host car show in Oxford

SEYMOUR - VFW Post 12084 will host a Car Show from 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Aug. 26 at Colonial Tavern, 25 Hawley Road, Oxford.

Featured will be classic cars, trucks, bike, antique military equipment, and more.
All vehicles are welcome. 
Registration is $15 for car vendors and $40 for craft vendors. 
Military vehicles are free, but please call ahead to reserve a space.
Proceeds will benefit local veterans.
The show will also feature a 50/50 raffle, prizes, live music, food, and crafts.
Admission is $4 for adults; $2 for seniors and free for children under 8, or $10 a carload.

Seymour VFW Post to host Irish Dinner at Colonial Tavern

SEYMOUR - VFW Post 12084 will host its sixth annual Irish Dinner at 3 p.m. March 11 at Colonial Tavern, 24 Hawley Road, Oxford.
 
The all-you-can-eat dinner includes corned beef, cabbage, potatoes, pasta with broccoli, dessert, and beverages. 
Tickets are $20 per person and they must be reserved by Feb. 27.
 
The event will feature dancing and entertainment provided by Tony Castle, along with door prizes.
The public is invited and all proceeds will benefit VFW programs.

The family-friendly event will be held Aug. 20 at Colonial Tavern in Oxford.

The WPLR STREET TEAM will be here from 1-3 pm, and AJ Man from Chaz & AJ will be one of the car show judges!

Cheese pairing class at Colonial Tavern in Oxford to benefit nonprofit

OXFORD - Caseus Fromagerie & Bistro of New Haven will sponsor the second cheese pairing class to benefit Connecticut Partnership for Children, Inc. April 14 at Colonial Tavern, 24 Hawley Road.
CTPFC is a 501c3 nonprofit dedicated to supporting low-income children throughout the state. 

The April class, entitled "Curds N' Vines" will feature five gourmet cheeses, paired with five wines, as well as local-made jam, honey, and chocolate. 
Caseus owner, Jason Sobocinski, will run the class. 
Guests will learn all about the cheese and wine, including where it comes from, how it's made, and what it pairs well with. 

Doors open at 5:45 p.m. and light dinner fare will be served until 6:30 p.m. when the class begins. After the class, dessert will be served. 
Cash bar is available before and after the class. 

This event makes a great early Mother's Day gift for that special mom in your life, or make it Ladies' Night Out. Entry is 21+ only. 
Tickets are $50 per person and all proceeds will benefit Connecticut Partnership for Children.
