'Turnback Tuesday' features farmhouse in East Derby

Turnback Tuesday visits the home of Samuel Marvin, which was located on the corner of Sentinel Hill and High Street in Derby.

Samuel was a farmer and milk dealer. He and his wife Sarah lived in this home from 1906 until his death June 5, 1924.

The layout of the road and the reservoir are basically the same as they are today. The location of the Marvin house is approximately where 390 Sentinel Hill Road is today.

Thanks goes to the Derby Public Library staff for sharing interesting local history each week!
