Former Derby fire chief inducted into Hall of Fame

Sharing message from Derby Town Clerk Marc Garofalo:

Congratulations to former Derby Fire Chief Gary Parker on being inducted into the Connecticut State Firefighters Association Hall of Fame.  He will be honored at a dinner on April 7, 2016.
The flyer is attached for your convenience.

Chief Parker is the fifth person affiliated with the Derby Fire Department to be named to the CSFA Hall of Fame since the honor was first given in 2009.  In 2010 former Chief Edward J. Cotter, Jr. and past DFD Chaplain Father Thomas Berberich were honored.  In 2011, former Chief Charles M. Stankye, Jr. was inducted and in 2014 former Chief Charles M. Stankye, III was inducted.

Chief Parker is a long time member of the Paugassett Hook and Ladder Company #4 of the Derby Fire Department.  He served as Street Commissioner for fourteen years from 1991 until 2005.  He is also an Eagle Scout from Troop 3 Boy Scouts of America and will serve as President of the Housatonic Council Boy Scouts of America for the next two years.

Please join Mayor Anita Dugatto and the entire City of Derby in congratulating Chief Parker on this prestigious honor.  She noted, “Chief Parker served our City with the utmost professionalism during his tenure as Chief.  We salute his service to the City and congratulate him on this high honor from his brother firefighters.”
