'Turnback Tuesday' features 'mystery' Christmas time image

Turnback Tuesday has this great image taken by James Caporale Studios sometime between 1932 and 1946.

A beautiful image with a story to tell. We know it was taken at Christmas time, since Santa has joined the group.

If you look closely, there is a star located on the balcony, and in that star is the symbol for the Freemasons.

The Library recently received 85 images taken by Caporale Studios. Many have groups of people in halls like this one and in front of buildings, etc.

What we need your help with is, where was this image taken? What building? Do you know anyone in this photo?

Derby Neck Library introduces community pantry

DERBY - Introducing the Derby Neck Community Pantry! 

Sometimes we all need a helping hand. This pantry is a place to give and receive with care - no judgment, just community. 

Take what you need today, and share what you can another time. The pantry will be restocked every Sunday. The Library is at 307 Hawthorne Ave.

We are accepting donations of non-perishable food, hygiene products, sealed packages of diapers and wipes, household cleaning supplies, pet food, and cash.

CT Foodshare truck to visit St. Mary's Church Tuesday in Derby

DERBY - The CT Foodshare truck will return to St. Mary’s Church parking lot Tuesday, Nov. 4 from 2:15-3 p.m. Tickets will be distributed to everyone PHYSICALLY IN LINE at 2 p.m. No place-holding with bags and carts. 

No income limits, no questions asked - just bring a bag to receive some food. Next visit will be Nov. 18.

The church is at 212 Elizabeth St.
