Derby Neck Library to host presentation on 20th century cosmetic history


DERBY - From the softly powdered “natural” complexions of 1900s Gibson Girls to the smudged eyeliner of the 1990s riot grrrls, the face of American beauty changed drastically over the course of the 20th Century. 

Join Adult Services Librarian and vintage cosmetics collector Kate Hellman for a discussion of the trends, innovations, and famous faces that defined the world of makeup, hair, and skincare for a hundred years.

Ansonia Police seek public's help in locating teen runaway

ANSONIA - The Ansonia Police Department is looking for the public’s assistance in locating a juvenile runaway, 14-year-old Leah Ortiz. 

She was last seen on Jan. 2, 2025 in the area of Arch Street and Howard Avenue. 

Ortiz is 5 foot 2 inches tall, 110 pounds, with brown eyes and brown and red hair.
