Soffermans ready 34th annual Turkey Drive to benefit Spooner House in Shelton
Post 50 to host ceremony at Veterans Park in Ansonia
ANSONIA - The City of Ansonia will host an abridged version of it Veterans Day Ceremony at 11 a.m. Wednesday.
Members of the American Legion Post 50 will give an address from the National Commander. It will be a simple marking of the day that commemorates our veterans in our hometown, as well as throughout the nation.
All are welcome to attend this outside event at Veterans Park, adjacent to City Hall, 253 Main St. Please practice social distancing if attending.

Derby-Shelton Rotary Club to deliver sand, salt mixture to seniors, disabled
The Derby-Shelton Rotary Club will deliver five- gallon buckets of sand and salt mixture to seniors, 65 and over, and disabled individuals who are Derby and Shelton residents Dec. 5-8. The mixture is for spreading on icy walkways and driveways during the winter.
If you are interested in receiving a bucket, please sign up at the Derby or Shelton Senior Centers or contact Kim Ryan at Curtiss Ryan Honda, 203-929-1484 ×227 or kim@curtissryan.com. Residents of housing developments that already provide sand are not eligible.
Deadline for signup is Nov. 27.
The Rotary motto is Service Above Self. Locally the club members are involved in projects such as providing a dictionary to every third grader in Derby and Shelton.

John H. Collins Post 24 to conduct Veterans Day ceremony on Derby Green
DERBY - Derby City Hall will be closed Wednesday, Nov. 11 in observance of Veterans Day.
The John H. Collins Post #24 - American Legion Department of CT will conduct a Veterans Day Ceremony on the Derby Green at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday.
