Cassetti announces prayer vigil Thursday in wake of Texas school shootings

This is the text of a call from Mayor David S.

Cassetti Wednesday:

Good Evening residents of the GREAT City of Ansonia:

I am calling to express my sadness and outrage over the incident that occurred yesterday in Texas. The thoughts and prayers of our entire City are with all of those families involved in this terrible tragedy.

At this time, I believe it is important for us to come together as a community. I can announce that a prayer vigil will be held tomorrow, Thursday, May 26 at 6 pm at Veterans Park, right next to City Hall.

Again, that’s a prayer vigil tomorrow night at 6 pm at Veterans Park.”

I also want to remind you that Ansonia’s Memorial Day Parade will return this Sunday, May 29, starting at 2 pm. The route will take the parade from Nolan Field to Main Street.

Look forward to a special presentation at the bandstand in front of city hall at about 2:30 pm.

Thank you for your time, and God Bless you and your families.”

Followup to previous post on Saturday's prayer vigil in Ansonia

ANSONIA - I attended the solemn vigil in Veterans Park Saturday both as a concerned resident and a journalist.
Like everyone who was there I fervently hope little 1-year old Vanessa Morales will soon be returned safe to her family.
