New pub welcomed in Seymour

I attended Friday's official grand opening of American Pie & Pub in Klarides Village Shopping Center in Seymour. 

The restaurant/bar held its "soft opening" June 12, which drew a huge crowd, said Oxford resident Phil Pedros, owner. 
The menu features thin-crust pizza, chicken wings, and specialty beers on tap.

Seymour pub holds official grand opening

Oxford resident Phil Pedros, owner of the new American Pie & Pub, makes a point Friday during a grand opening celebration for the business located in Klarides Village in Seymour. At left is general manager Frank DelMastro of Shelton.

The grand opening celebration this weekend will feature specially-priced $5 cheese pizzas, drink specials, and more.

Live entertainment on tap:

Joe Cristino will play acoustic guitar at 7 p.m. today, followed at 9:30 p.m. by Bottoms Up, a Van Halen tribute band.

At 7 p.m. Sunday there will be a dinner show with Angelo Ruggiero singing the music of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Tony Bennett.
