Griffin Hospital Development Fund welcomes lifelong Seymour resident to board

DERBY - The Griffin Hospital Development Fund, an affiliate of Griffin Health Services, is pleased to welcome Frederick D. Stanek of Seymour to its Board of Directors.

“The Griffin Hospital Development Fund is deeply honored to have Mr. Stanek join our board,” said Janet Hall, Executive Director of the Development Fund. “We look forward to his leadership, passion, and vision in helping us to fulfill the mission of the Development Fund to support Griffin Hospital’s commitment to patient-centered, exceptional care and to the promotion of wellness throughout the communities it serves.”

Stanek is a lifelong resident of Seymour and was born at Griffin Hospital. 
He is an attorney and
partner in the law firm Teodosio, Stanek, LLC, which has offices in Shelton and Oxford. 
He is a graduate of Seymour High School and received a degree in Business Administration from the University of Connecticut and a Juris Doctor Degree from Syracuse University College of Law. 
He is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association and is a past president of the Lower Naugatuck Valley Bar Association.

Stanek has been a member of the Seymour Board of Education since 1989 and has also served as a member of the Seymour Board of Selectmen and Seymour Library Board of Directors. 

He is counsel to the Naugatuck Valley Health District and has served as Beacon Falls Town Counsel. He has also served on the Matthies Foundation Advisory Board.

“I am honored to have been appointed to The Griffin Hospital Development Fund Board of Directors,” Stanek said. “Having been born at Griffin Hospital and being a lifelong resident of Seymour, I am grateful that the Valley is served by Griffin Health which provides quality health services for our community and is an economic engine for the area. Griffin Hospital is one of only four independent hospitals left in Connecticut meaning that it is truly a community asset serving the people of the area. As a member of The Development Fund Board of Directors, I hope to contribute to furthering the Hospital’s funding for Surgical Suite Expansion Project and work toward assisting Griffin Health in continuing and expanding its services and its philosophy as a health care provider for the care of the community.”

The mission of Griffin Hospital’s Development Fund is to attract support and raise funds for the Hospital to maintain its reputation as a center of medical excellence in humanistic healthcare. The Fund has supported several breakthrough developments for Griffin Hospital, including the construction of the Center for Cancer Care, Hewitt Center for Breast Wellness and Hewitt Ambulatory Services Pavilion.
